Renovations and new builds
A renovation is the one time the walls are open, so it is the time to get the electrical right. We work from your plans and with your builder, rough in the cabling before the plaster goes on, fit off once the painters are done, and hand over a compliant installation with the Certificate of Electrical Safety your building surveyor will ask for.

What the job can include
- Kitchen rewires: cooktops, ovens, rangehoods, dishwashers, under-bench lighting and bench power
- Bathroom and laundry wiring: heated towel rails, exhaust fans, heat lamps, safe zones observed
- Extensions and second storeys wired from the existing board
- Full-house wiring for new builds and knock-down rebuilds
- Rough-in before plaster and fit-off after paint, scheduled with the builder
- Data, TV and network points run while the walls are open
- Switchboard upgrades to carry the new load

Before you book
Walk the job with us first
Before rough-in we walk every room with you and mark where each point, switch and light goes. Moving a mark on a wall is free; moving a power point after plaster is not.
Plan for what comes next
While the walls are open we can run cable for the things you might add later: an EV charger, a battery, outdoor lighting, a workshop. A conduit now saves a trench later.
Paperwork sorted
Building surveyors need a Certificate of Electrical Safety at rough-in and at completion. We lodge both with Energy Safe Victoria and send copies to you and the builder without being asked.

Renovations and new builds: common questions
Do you work with my builder or directly with me?
Either. On many renovations the builder engages us and coordinates the schedule; on others the owner does. We are used to both, and we are happy to quote from plans before you have chosen a builder.
What do you need from me to quote a renovation?
The plans if you have them, otherwise a walk-through and a list of what you want where. From that we produce an itemised fixed quote so you can see what each part costs and trim it if you need to.
Can the old wiring stay in the rest of the house?
Often yes, if it tests well. We check the existing circuits while we are there and tell you which are fine and which are worth replacing while the ceiling is accessible.
